Saturday: Moret-sur-Loing, cycle tour ± 7 km
Our cycling and sailing holiday along the Seine begins with a bus transfer from Paris Gare du Nord station to the village of Moret-sur-Loing. The hotel ship is moored at this picturesque medieval village, which was the setting for some impressionist paintings by, among others, Alfred Sisley. In the evening we make a short bike ride to Saint Mammès. This is a traditional barging village, where the rivers Seine and Loing meet.
Sunday: Moret-sur-Loing – Melun, cycle tour ± 45 km
After the first night on the ship we cycle to the impressive castle of Château de Fontainebleau, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Along the banks of the Seine your bike holiday continues to the charming provincial town of Melun. In this town, located on an island in the Seine river, we take a relaxed city walk along various beautiful bridges, historic buildings and churches.
Melun – Vigneux s / Seine – Paris, cycle tour ± 50 km
Today we make a bike tour along the banks of the Seine. After cycling across the woods of the forestry of Domaine de Senart we arrive in Vigneux-sur-Seine. Here we embark the barge for a cruise on the Seine to Paris. The boat will moor for the night in the historic Bassin de l’Arsenal, located in down town Paris.
Tuesday: free day in PARIS
The day starts with an interesting boat trip (± 2.5 hours) from the Bassin de l’Arsenal to the Bassin la Villette. Along the way you will pass romantic bridges, historic locks and the ship will even sail through a tunnel! From appr. 10.30 hrs. you can visit a few highlights of Paris on your own: the Eiffel Tower, the stunning Louvre museum, Centre Pompidou (modern art) or just go shopping.
Wednesday: Paris / Bassin-La-Vilette – Bougival, cycle tour ± 40 km
Today we will make a special Paris bike tour starting the center and passing the Eiffel Tower. From La Défense (modern architecture) you’ll have a great view on the famous Arc de Triomph. We cycle along cycle paths along the Seine river and pass the famous public park Bois de Boulogne. The bike tour ends in Bougival, a peaceful town on the Seine.
Thursday: Bougival – Auvers-sur-Oise – l’Île Adam, cycle tour ± 40 km
We start our cycle route along the Seine today in Bougival. Via the castle of St. Germain-en-Laye and the town of Conflans Ste Honorine, the bike ride ends in Auvers-sur-Oise. The painter Vincent van Gogh lived and worked in this picturesque village. In the afternoon we continue by barge to l’Îsle Adam, a charming village on the river Oise.
Friday: l’Îsle Adam – Creil – Compiègne, cycle tour ± 40 km
After waking up we sail to Creil. Today’s bike ride goes along the river Oise to the imperial city of Compiègne. Here you have several options: a visit to the beautiful park, the palace of Napoleon III or take a look at the St Jacob’s church (13th century). This evening is all about a joint walk through the center of Compiègne.
Saturday: Compiègne, end of bike and barge tour
Your tour leader and crew say goodbye to you today, but not before we have a last nice breakfast aboard. The station of Compiègne is located near the boaat. Trains to Paris-Gare-du-Nord or Charles de Gaulle Airport leave from here.
Each next cycling and sailing tour starts in the reverse order: start in Compiègne and end in Moret-sur-Loing.
